I Lost My Faith in True Faith
True Faith had a gig on Las Vegas Cafe yesterday.
I’m not usually the kind of person who you should ask a judgment of popular bands from, but from what happened yesterday, True Faith figuratively streaked all over unwilling eyes and as a result lost a whole lot of respect from me.
First of all, their gig was on D.Tuazon, a residential area, and a place where a lot of kids live. Sure, Las Vegas Cafe had to fault by not soundproofing their walls well enough, but doesn’t True Faith bear the responsibility of surveying the surrounding before accepting an offer for a gig?
Second, their music was really loud, which is not quite what to expect on a band known to play popular music, and with such being the case, the result was awful. What’s up with everyone jumping into the "HARD ROCK" bandwagon anyway? True Faith suddenly realized that Hale, Sugarfree, Orange and Lemons and crops of rock bands sell these days and as a result, they threw their grass roots so as not to be outdone? They have officially made themselve prone to being called "sellout" by going into trendy music genre that is not really suited for them. It’s not that I have anything against heavy metal, grudge rock and punk rock, and that I slam Bible quotes and label them "demonic music", but hearing them do heavy metal is so awkward that it’s like hearing Mozart do Reggae!
Third, is that as if everything wasn’t bad (and noisy) enough, they had to sing all the way to 5 AM! Are they even aware that they have caused a lot of neighbors to lose sleep? Don’t they know it’s against the law to be noisy to one neighborhood, let alone 100+homes surrounding it? Oh, but I guess Sonny Belmonte was too busy making banners to congratulate this batch’s graduate to even care about all the ruckus.
At the end of the day, or more appropriately, at the start of the next day, True Faith did gather some audiences and earned great money. If only they were able to see how tired tenants on residents that circumspects Las Vegas Cafe are the next day; if only they knew that I was under the roof of a place nearby witnessing 20 people having the headache of their lifetime; if only they knew how much people lost sleep because of all the noise they’re making; if only they know they were supposed to make music and instead they were making noises; and if only they knew all the respects I’ve cultivated for them over the years have dwindled due to the incident last night…
…they would’ve been more thoughtful. But I guess that’s not what True Faith really stands for now, eh?
