Tone Deaf!
I just came back from the Philippines last Saturday. In less than one week, however, I have already found three more reasons to hate GMA (yes, the "president"!).
First, while Mike Enriquez was interviewing her, she said that in her term as a president, a lot of job opportunities have been granted to the jobless, poverty have decreased and that the economy has improved much.
Now I’m not even going to begin arguing with her that the amount of squatters you can see outside have decreased. No! Quite the contrary! In fact, the place where I used to live in have more squatters surrounding it than it ever did. To make matters worse, did people who don’t have jobs yesterday start having jobs now? The beggars I’ve passed by 10 years ago are still there, begging with a dour look at their faces. Poverty have alleviated? Yeah, that’s just as true as a man in the sun.
Secondly, GMA said, according to the article in Philippine Daily Inquirer, that she welcome interviews such as Mike Enriquez to practice our constitutional freedom of press.
She was damn right about freedom of press being constitutional and democratic. What she was damn wrong was her attitude about this one. She’s suddenly going to pretend that people who despise her are free to do so publicly? Now, what is it that I hear of about Time Magazine’s labelling of Philippines as one of the worst countries for journalists to be in? Weren’t there like 5-10 journalists assassinated just last month? Yeah, I wonder who commissioned such atrocious tasks!
Lastly, as written in Wednesday’s headline of Philippine Daily Inquirer, GMA said that God send her in Malacañang (as president, of course).
I can bet that God stumbled upon hearing such statement. He must’ve wondered "What? I sent a liar to become a president?" I bet that’s far from what God has planned. The reason why GMA is president is because she cheated and because a whole lot of charlatans were (and still are) there to back her up. This is the reason why our country keeps on declining, which possibly demonstrates God’s wrath on our dishonest, corrupted soul. There’s no truth plainer than the fact that GMA cheated at the election, and just about everyone in this lonely planet knows that. Never before have I ever chanced upon a person who had as much audacity to proclaim the self as God’s missionary as GMA. Heck, Jesus never said that He was sent by God! What makes GMA think she can suddenly put herself into a higher position? Persisting to stay as president I can probably partially empathize. Claiming oneself as Godsend? And a cheater claiming that? What kind of a retard would believe that?
